Transport CH 2015 - 4

Hodel also had 2 stands, this one was outside. Here they displayed to trucks, both with demountable cranes. The first one is owned by Michel Krantrans and it is a Scania R520 6x2. It has got a rear mounted Effer 395 in 6S version with a 4S jib, good for 26,4 meter outreach. The crane can be disconnected from the flatbed.

Beside it stood this nice Renault T 6x2 of Egger. It is equiped with an Effer 375 6S with 4S jib. This crane cannot be taken from the flatbed, but the whole flatbed can be taken of together with the crane. It is mounted on 4 twistlocks. On the flatbed we see a Hoeflon C10 crane, these are also sold by Hodel.

Indoors they showed this interesting tracked crane. In Italy a similar unit is offered, this one is based on that unit, but now with some Hodel modifications for the swiss customers. It is sold as the "C52" and has got an Effer 525 6S with a 6S jib. This can lift 2,3 tonnes at 16,85 meters. With the jib it can lift 580 kg at 29,37 meters. An interesting aspect of this crane are the dimensions, it has a width of 1,95 meters, a height of 2,7 meters and is nearly 5 meters long. The ballast weights that where added by Hodel make it stable in all directions. The empty weight (without ballast and jib) is only 15 tons, so it can also be used on places where ground pressure is an issue. The outriggers on both sides are mounted in a V-shape to give more support length. The engine power was also increased by Hodel, this gives more pumpflow and therefore a better overal performance. Also the tracks where replaced by these white ones, they are better for indoor use.

This 5-axled Scania R490 was also on display, an interesting combination of crane truck and tipper. At the front there is an Effer 685 6S with a 6S Heavy Duty jib. This combination lifts 780 kg at 30,09 meters. The crane is officially allowed to be used with a worksman basket. The tipper can tip up to an angle of 52°, the body has got extendable side arms so that containers up to 3,4 meters width can be loaded. Completely equiped and ready to roll, this truck still offers a loading capacity of 14,5 tons!

Here we could also see 2 Hoeflon cranes, this is the compact C6.

And here another C10, this one being shown with a basket. To the right we see how narrow the C6 is.
