Iveco Trakker - Scuderia Ferrari
During my visit in 2007 to photograph the
trucks of Kran & Trans, this Iveco Trakker of Scuderia Ferrari was also there.
There was not typeplate to indicate the power.
It is pulling a trailer that is also part of the motorhome.
Back then the trucks of this team where running on british license plates.
A bit later the truck was parked without trailer. It is an Iveco Trakker in 8x4 layout with high cab, as they where touring through entire Europe.
A Hiab 800 was installed very close behind the cab, so that a trailer can also be transported.
It is an Hiab 800 EP-4 that extends 4x to 12,4 meter with 5,8 ton capacity.
Stability is brought by the 2 outriggers at the crane and 2 heavy outriggers at the rear of the chassis.
Then they started to build the motorhome. First they lift of the grey containers of the front of the trailer. To the right we see the trailer that was coupled to the Trakker, it serves as the base of the motorhome.
These containers end up on casters and contain the tools to construct the motorhome.
And the next container is being lifted. As they have to be pulled from between the trailer and cab, this is a delicate job.
The chassis holds a dieseltank and air barrels are installed between the fenders.
The 4x extending crane is enough for this work.
Now this large unit is being lifted of the trailer.
It is placed directly behind the crane truck.
As the crane was placed in such a way that this unit can be placed directly behind it, I guess that this unit with it's weight get's close to the maximum capacity of this crane.
A nice truck back then. I believe it was replaced later on by an Iveco Stralis with Fassi F1100.
