MAN TGX 41.640 - Bohnet
Along the A7 I saw this MAN TGX of Bohnet with a heavy load.
It is the current model of the heavy transport tractor of MAN, the TGX 41.640. It's a 41 tons in 8x4 layout with the 640 hp D38 6-cylinder engine.
This side of the chassis holds the large muffler and a small toolbox.
Behind the cab stands a tower with the large cooling for the engine and ZF torque converter at the top. At the bottem we see the large dieseltank. The rear of the chassis holds a heavy drawbar coupling, as this truck can also be used to pull heavy transports.
The Scheuerle trailer starts with a heavy gooseneck and a 4-axled module, on which some small stuff was placed.
The entire combination has become quite long, as the load already has a length of 10 meters.
They choose very thin floors of Greiner to keep the overal height as low as possible. In total 3 of these floors are connected here to cover the length of the load.
At the end of the combination we find a 6-axled module.
At the end of the module we see the large modular connection point, to which even more modules could be connected. But in this case 6 axles at the rear where enough.
It is a part for a large press and weighs according the paperwork 75 tons, it is heading for the USA. The other dimensions are 3,9 and 4,15 meter.
At this side they placed a large toolbox behind the tower.
At the front of the chassis, behind the convoi exceptionnel sign, there is a heavy drawbar coupling. With hat heavy transports can also be pushed. This trucks get an allowed total weight of up to 250 tons.
A nice combination.
