Scania R 10x4 - Kurko Koponen
I saw this Scania R 10x4 in 2018 near the yard of Kurko Koponen in Vantaa (FIN).
It is a long 5-axled truck, where the 5th axle has got a larger distance from the tandem than usual. This was probably done for a higher axle load.
They installed the long version of the Fassi 2150, called the F2150RAL. With 8 extensions it reaches up to 24,5 meter where it still lifts 4,1 tons.
Connected to this crane is a L816L jib, which is also the long version. This jib has 6 extensions which offer a total outreach of 41 meter with 970 kg capacity.
Currently the crane is folded down on the flatbed, but it can also be folded down in the driving direction. It then takes up about the half of the length of the flatbed.
The flatbed can be extended to the rear for some extra length. The truck also has got a drawbar coupling, as trucks like this can still pull a large trailer in Finland.
The deep snow prevented me to photograph the other side. This truck was also displayed at the Bauma 2016.
A similar truck could be seen at their yard. This is a Scania R with short cab, but also as 10x4 with long flatbed.
This Scania is equiped with a Fassi F1950RAL. The outreach of this crane is the same, but the capacity is a bit less with 3,75 ton / 770 kg.
