Volvo FH540 - Effer 2255 & 2655
The largest truck on Zink's stand was this Volvo of Weiss Kranservice with the gigantic Effer 2655.
Weiss typically orders Volvo FH16-750 trucks, also here as a 10x4.
To get a huge crane like this stable, they needed to add 70t front outriggers at the front!
The crane was ordered in the longest version, so a 7S base crane combined with a 6S jib and another 3S jib. The base crane already reaches 27,45 meter with 4,74 tonnes. With the 6S jib it can reach 50,1 meter with 520 kg. The 2nd jib is made for lifts at higher heights. It carries it's maximum load of 740 kg at a tipping height of 54 meter!
If all booms are extended, it looks like this. This is about 56 meters of height, maximum is 60 meter.
As the 2655 doesn't have ballast, it needs a good set of outriggers. In total this vehicle has 8 heavy outriggers on all sides for 360° stability.
Weiss was present with 2 vehicles at Zink, this one is equiped with the 2255 model.
This crane was also delivered with a 2nd jib. The base version is the 8S with 26,12 meter outreach with 3,72 tonnes. With the 6S HD jib it can lift 500 kg at 45,44 meters. Here the 2nd jib is also meant for work at heights. This one can lift a maximum of 1,3 tons when the HD jib is only extended 3x (~41 mtr height). At about 47 mter tipping height the jib's capacity is still 420 kg.
This crane was also installed onto a Volvo FH16-750 10x4 chassis, this time with 65 tons front outriggers.
The 2255 also needs 8 outriggers to be stable in all directions.
