Volvo FMX540 - Gebr. Markewitsch - Nufam 2021
On the Fassi stand, this Volvo FMX540 of Gebr. Markewitsch was on display.
An Fassi F1650 was installed behind the cab, an 8x extending version that lifts 5245 kg at 19,4 meters. It was built by ISM IndustrieService Müller.
Behind that is a small flatbed to store some lifting equipment. As the crane frame is above the chassis, the flatbed height is quite high.
Large 3x extending outriggers are mounted to the end of that frame. These are integrated into the frame, that was delivered completely by Fassi including the crane.
These high outriggers have the advantage that they have tiltable legs, which make them ideal to move over obstacles. A large toolbox was mounted above these outriggers.
On both sides of the flatbed they installed a ladder to the front. That is the reason why that piece of side board swivels to the front, so that you have access to the ladder.
On the flatbed we see the L816 jib, which gives a capacity of 1365 kg at 31,3 meters.
Here we see that the crane is mounted a little distance away from the cab, probably for better weight distribution and stability to the front.
Two outriggers where mounted to the front of the chassis, which is also fully reinforced for stability to the front.
They chose the Globetrotter cab on the FMX. The FMX series is the more robust Volvo version for offroad usage.
Here we see the base crane at full height, rougly 23,5 meter height.
