MAN TGS 41.480 - Délétroz Transports
This MAN TGS 8x8 belongs to the company Délétroz Transports SA from Ayent (CH).
The truck was built in 2012 by adding a Fassi F950. A short cab is sufficient for the regional work.
The crane is a Fassi F950AXP.28, so an 8x extending version that can lift 3,18 tonnes at 19,85 meter.
Originally this was an 8x8 with a driven rigid tandem. Toni Maurer converted it into this 8x8*6, so with a rigid driven rear axle and a driven steered rear axle. That makes the truck very manoeuvrable, what is necessary on cramped mountain roads.
The flatbed can be taken off, so that the truck can be used as a tractor unit.
Délétroz often works on the construction of skilifts. Such projects need much material, that all has to brought up to the site. That is why a flatbed or a trailer is an important option here. On these sites there often is not much room, so it is important to transport as much material at once as possible.
The crane is the integral crane foot, so with the crane installed behind the outriggers. Probably this solution was chosen because of the overall height, but it also reduces the weight on the front axles.
The crane is equiped with a L616 jib that extends 6x. With that a total outreach of 31,7 meter is reached with 815 kg capacity. With the JDP system (Jib Double Power) the jib can lift a maximum of 5,4 tonnes. But for that, the main crane can only extend up to 6x. A 2.ton winch is installed on the crane.
A perfect machine for the mountain rich Wallis region of Switzerland!
