Scania R650 XT - Bayer Transporte
In the evening I could photograph this Scania R650 XT of Bayer Transporte from Prad am Stilfserjoch (I) during a job.
It is a very compact 8x4 with the half-long cab and short wheelbase. This way the truck stays manouevrable, which is important in this mountaines region.
Behind the cab stands a Palfinger PK92002F, which can lift 3,75 tons at 17,8 meter. The PK92002 offers a good mix between lifting- and loading capacity. It is clear to see that every free space on this truck got filled with storage compartments.
The body was built by Bayer itself. The body is 1,18 meter heigh and can extend at the rear.
A drawbar coupling at the rear makes it possible to tow a trailer.
This also is filled with storage space. The space in the middle is where the exhaust system sits, covered by the same style of plates.
Here the crane unfolds. The F-version can be combined with the heavy PJ170E jib. This will lift 1,1 tons at 30,4 meters. With the DPS system actived the jib can lift a maximum of 6,5 tonnes.
A part for a biogas plant was loaded onto the flatbed.
As this part is longer than the flatbed, it was placed onto the support beam behind the cab. A heavy hook is hanging at the oiltank of the crane. It can be mounted at the foot of the jib and can lift heavy loads up to 12 ton with the jib still installed onto the crane.
Inside the plant the crane was set up again and the part was installed. The 18 ton front outriggers offers a flexible use of the crane, as the capacity to the front is also good.
