Scania R730 - Dan Eriksen Transport AS
Durin my latest visit to Norway I could photograph this Scania R730 of Eriksen in Oslo.
It was just done with working and was already folded. On the Scania we see a Palfinger PK200002 crane, the longest crane of Palfinger. With 8 extensions it can reach 25,4 meter with almost 4 tons. With the 7x extending PJ300 jib that is 45,1 meters with 500kg.
The crane was parked at a narrow spot, the entrance of a parking garage. The outrigger at the rear gives good support for work over the rear of the truck, it is standard on a PK200002. In the last cabinet on this side there is an electric drive installed that can take 1 or 2 x 63A-400V connections. So with an external power source the crane can be driven without keeping the engine of the truck running, although a battery charger is needed on longer jobs, as the ignition of the truck has to stay on and is not charged otherwise.
A set of toolboxes was installed between the cab and crane, probably to reduce the front axle load by moving the crane to the rear a bit. Above the large oiltank lies the MFA jib, a manuel 3x extension for the crane. It offers an additional 5,5 meter of outreach and mainly serves as a tipping point at high heigts.
Soon everything was packed together. With these concrete walls it's a good thing that all outriggers are equiped with tilting cylinders, that way they can be moved over the walls for a stable setup.
It is a Scania R730 Next Generation in 10x4 setup. Notice that the last axle has larger distance from the tandem. With that a higher axle load is possible. The allowed total weight is 41 tons in this setup.
A nice crane truck in complete silver. Eriksen owns 2 of these units and a PK135002, all of them are running for the Transportsentralen Oslo.
And off the went, on to the next job.
