Scania R580 - Frehner Transporte
At the end of 2019 this Scania was added to the fleet of Frehner Transporte from Schwellbrunn (CH).
It's a Scania R580 V8 10x4*6 NextGen with the middle high sleeper cab.
A 25 tons outrigger was mounted to the front of the truck, this is done in the Palfinger factory. This side of the chassis holds the dieseltank.
The 5-axled chassis is filled completely with the largest Palfinger crane, the PK200002L-SH. Because of the concept with long boom sections, this crane has to fold down in the driving direction. The front of the chassis holds the large oiltank.
This crane extends 8x on the main boom, where it can still lift 3,95 tons at 25,4 meters. Frehner is a specialist for using grapples on loader cranes, also with this unit. That is why it is carrying 2 grapples here, a big one at the rear and a smaller one beside the crane. They are operated with the hydraulic options on this crane.
Above the cabinet at the rear they installed a heavy lattice grate where the grapple can lie on, but also any other kind of tool.
Behind the door in the back we see the rear outrigger. It lies flat on the chassis here, but extends to the rear and then tilts down to provide support in this direction.
This truck has a total weight of 44 tons. As it is registered as a driving machine (yellow plates) it doesn't have a drawbar coupling.
This crane holds a PJ300 F long jib that extends 7x to 45,1 meter with 500 kg. Maximum capacity is 8,2 tons at about 22 meters height. This side of the chassis holds the mufler.
A very nice truck that will probably stay in the fleet for a long time, as is usual at Frehner.
Below is a short video of this truck.
